Was it just me, or did January feel three months long? I did manage to stay on track this month with two books; Behind Her Eyes and Turtles All The Way Down.
Behind Her Eyes
This is one that I have been saving for a while now and wow. I kept guessing where this book was going to end, and while I ultimately got close to guessing it I was dead wrong. Caught up in the middle of varied perspectives from a wife and mistress I can honestly say I couldn’t put this book down. And when I finally did the ending had a twist that I never saw coming.
Turtles All The Way Down
I’ve read a few John Green books before and while they aren’t always exactly my cup of tea I tend to keep reading him because he is the only author I’ve ever met in person. This one was once again not my favorite. While the main character is dealing with a very real mental illness I found the particular thought spiral to be a bit boring despite the fact that the repetition of the thoughts were the basis of the issue at hand. My younger self probably would have enjoyed this more.
Excited to pick out next month’s books! What have you all been reading lately? I feel like I need a good sci-fi. Let me know in the comments1 >>
