ALL OF MY PLANTS ALWAYS DIE. And I seriously don’t know why I suck at keeping them alive. But this little cactus…well he is a special cactus. Out of my nice bowl of succulents I planted in March this cactus is the only one still standing, AND before I planted my little bowl of succulents he was the only one still standing from the previous batch.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day people couldn’t help but spend as much time outdoors as possible. After a long lunch break of enjoying the sunny day, my boss actually let me out a half day early to enjoy the weather. I was able to enjoy some time in Millennium Park and walk along the lake front briefly before catching a train back home just in time to miss the thunderstorms the rest of the evening. This small gallery of photos just goes to show how pretty the city of Chicago can be.
This cute pillow project is a fun way to keep old sweaters that no longer fit, but you still love. This particular zebra sweater is one that was destined for the donation bin after shrinking in the wash. I loved the design on it though and wanted to turn it into something that I could continue to enjoy for a while.
It’s been such a long time since I busted out the sewing machine and actually made something for myself. Especially something I liked enough to really wear. I felt really inspired and after a short trip to JoAnn’s, I came home with a few yards of a soft light blue denim. After playing around with a few ideas I decided to make a simple high waisted circle skirt. This cute, simple diy isn’t as in depth as I would normally go but will show you all in a general sense how I made it.
Warm weather is pretty much back and I figured that it was more than time to update my mom’s front porch pillows. As you can see the burlap ones she made last summer did not hold up too well through the elements. So we went to the fabric store, picked out some brand new outdoor fabrics and I set out to replace the pillows for her.
There wasn’t a better way to kick off the spring season than taking a day trip out to Holland, Michigan for the annual Tulip Festival Tulip Time. This weeklong festival runs from May 7-14 2016 and falls during the tulips’ peek blooming time.
Good news everyone! Popsicle stick picture frames aren’t just for little kids to make anymore. This easy to make popsicle stick frame is a step above the one you made in kindergarten and can give any photo a great new home!
A quick day long road trip can often be something to dread. Uncomfortable seats, poor radio connection and unchanging scenery for miles and miles turns into a long and dreary experience unless you have the right attitude. But there are several way to help pass the time when traveling from one adventure to the next.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Westeros! DUNNNN-DUNNNN-DA-DA-DUNNNN-DUNNNN-DADA-DUNNNNNNNN. With the new season of Game of Thrones starting again it’s a no brainer that I am absolutely giddy, so freaking excited, can’t contain myself happy. Who else cannot wait for the season opener later tonight?!?
Springtime is finally in the air! After weeks of teasing warm spells, and a blizzard last week the flowers are finally in the bloom. Feeling inspired, I did a few fashion sketches centered around flowers.
