Well, June was a slow month as far as reading goes. I only got through two books with everything that was going on. One of those things was watching a heck of a lot of Netflix since I was recovering from getting two wisdom teeth pulled. But that isn’t to say that these books weren’t good, and that just means I have more options to pick from next month!
THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR
This book was literally so good. I was hooked from the very beginning and thought that the story was well written and extremely compelling. It is about a couple whose baby goes missing while they are at a dinner party with the couple next door. The following turn of events in working with the police to find the baby is a whirlwind of emotions and twists. I would definitely recommend this book, and am curious to pick up her next book when it comes out later this year.
THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO
I picked The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo as my June Book of the Month. I really thought that I would like this book more than I did. I felt like it was a slow read and I wasn’t as invested in the life of Evelyn Hugo because she isn’t actually a real person. But the old Hollywood glamor, gossip and cover-ups were pretty interesting so I wouldn’t say this book was a complete loss.
This month I had hard time deciding between The Windfall and The Final Girls as my Book of the Month so I picked both. I also have a lot of leftovers to read from this month so I should be set for a little while. I’m ready for a good summer beach read, are you? >>
