The two most irresistible sweets, chocolate and strawberries. Combine that with a good ol’ American flag and you have the perfect Fourth of July treat. Independence Day is only one week away, and if you are looking for an extra snack platter idea to add to your BBQ spread, this simple chocolate covered strawberry flag is your solution.
It’s very easy to make yourself; you really just need strawberries, meltable chocolate, and a ziplock baggie. Start by cutting several strawberries length wise into slivers and set aside. Then start melting the chocolate. If you can get blue and white meltable chocolate that would be best. I only had white melting chocolate and had to dye some of mine with blue which made the consistency a little off. Dip 8 large berries into the melted blue chocolate and let them dry on wax paper. After they dry arrange them into the upper left corner of your platter. Then arrange the strawberry slivers in rows on the rest of the patter. Melt the white chocolate and put it into a baggie. Cut the corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate over the strawberry rows in horizontal lines. Then carefully make small dots on the blue berries for the stars. Once the chocolate is set your platter is ready to serve!
It’s really easy, really cute, and the stripes are the perfect way to get a chocolate covered strawberry taste without having too much chocolate.
I know that I’m ready for next week! Are you? What are you planning to have on the table? Let me know in the comments below.
