DIY Gold Brushed Marble Macarons

05.26.17

Don’t know about you all, but I haven’t had a macaron in a while. I figured I should without a doubt change that fact. And while I know I don’t usually ever share edible DIY’s I have been dying to use this edible gold paint I got and thought macaron decorating would be a super fun thing to share!

Making these is super easy considering I didn’t bake the macarons myself. I went out to my local bakery and bought half a dozen. For the marbling technique I wanted to do I needed very light colored macarons so I got three vanilla and three coffee for variety. Other than the macarons you need whip cream or cool whip, black or dark food coloring, toothpicks, paper towels, edible gold paint, and food paint brushes.

Start by spreading the whipped cream out on a plate of piece of wax paper. Add a little bit of black food dye and swirl it up with the toothpick. I found that less black works better to get a good marbled look. Then dip your macaron gently into the cream and carefully blot it off with a paper towel. Allow to dry before repeating the process on the other side.

Once the black marbling has dried onto the macaron it is time to break out the edible gold paint. I did a dry brush stroke technique over a little less than half of each cookies to add some elegance to them. Again, wait for one side to dry before flipping them over to do the other side.

Once they dry, they are all ready to enjoy! SO GOOD! >>

  1. Hey there 🙂

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s
    still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!

    1. Hi Justin,

It is a theme from Blogzilla studio! I highly recommend them for great looking WordPress themes. Take of yourself as well.

      Best,
      >> Sarah >>
