The Final 8 Books of 2017

01.01.18

Time for a little new year catch-up. Here are the last 8 books I read in 2017.

READY PLAYER ONE & THE CLOCKWORK DYNASTY.

I picked up Ready Player One after seeing the movie trailer for the first time and thinking it looked awesome. Despite all of the 80’s nostalgia I have to admit that after reading this book I am way less excited for the movie adaptation. I thought The Clockwork Dynasty was interesting, but not blow you away great as far as fantasy goes.

THE CHALK MAN. THE WOMAN IN CABIN 10. FINAL GIRLS.

The Chalk Man was the most recent book I finished this year, and while I enjoyed the ride of reading it I must admit the ending left me displeased. I thought The Woman in Cabin 10 was pretty good, and would recommend it. Final Girls was also an good suspenceful read, but not something I would want to revisit again.

MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE. EMMA IN THE NIGHT.

Both of these books felt like guilty pleasures to me while I was reading them.  Nice, simple and enjoyable.

BEST READS OF THE YEAR

My favorite books that I read this year were hands down All The Ugly And Wonderful Things and Dark Matter.  So good. Both of them.

Maybe 2018 will bring more consistency to this sort of post as I still have a large stack of books to get through. I won’t say it is a resolution of mine to try to stay on top of it, because I definitely won’t be able to stay on track. So I will just call it wishful thinking. Happy New Year everyone! >>
